Once Live Parts™ has created your design, you can import it back into SOLIDWORKS where it will be auto-assembled and can be further analyzed.
- In Live Parts, select File->Export and choose one of the two export options: STL will bring your design into SOLIDWORKS as a mesh while LPE (Live Parts Export) will bring your design into SOLIDWORKS as a solid (with B-Rep surfaces in the regions represented by attractor gradients and triangle surfaces in the remaining areas). Live Parts will provide you with a new 10-digit key to use for importing the object into SOLIDWORKS. This 10-digit key will be automatically copied to your clipboard.
- Close out of Live Parts and shut down your Live Parts virtual machine. You can do this directly within the Windows OS or by using the Paperspace App menu bar (Paperspace > Shutdown). If you plan to iterate on this design or continue using Live Parts, you may skip this step.
- Return to SOLIDWORKS and select Import in the Live Parts for SOLIDWORKS Add-in toolbar. The Add-in will automatically paste in your 10-digit key.
- Click OK to load and auto-assembly your object into SOLIDWORKS.
Important: If you are accessing Live Parts via the browser, during Step 1, you will need to manually copy or write down the 10-digit key, and during Step 3, you will need to manually enter in the 10-digit key when prompted.
