By default, the cell size used during the growth process in Live Parts is set to be 1% of the largest dimension of the bounding box for the Live Parts reference geometry in SOLIDWORKS.
Increasing the cell size decreases the time required during the Live Parts growth process to reach a steady state object, but it also decreases the resolution and complexity of the geometry.
Adjusting Cell Size in SOLIDWORKS:
- Select Settings in the Live Parts for SOLIDWORKS Add-in Toolbar.
- Input a value in the Cellsize box (as a % of Live Parts reference geometry bounding box's largest dimension)
- (Optional) Check the Absolute box if you would like to input an absolute size for the cells (in mm)
- Select Save.
Alternatively, you can also adjust the cell size dynamically during the Live Parts growth process by using the slider in the Cell Properties Toolbar while in Advanced Mode in Live Parts. For more information, please visit our Cell Properties Toolbar: Advanced Mode page.
