In this step, you use the Live Parts Add-in for Solidworks to set up a model for your design that includes constraints and objectives and then export this model to the Live Parts web app for the design growth process.

Step 2 | Create & explore designs (Live Parts web app)
In this step, you use Live Parts running on your virtual machine in the Live Parts web app (sign in at liveparts.desktopmetal.com) to import your model and Live Parts will autonomously grow an optimized design from scratch.
At any point during or after the growth process, you can interact with the design by adjust loading conditions, materials, resolution, and even design objectives. Live Parts responds in real-time, optimizing the design to reflect modifications.
You can view strain approximations in your design as it grows or validate the performance in seconds directly within Live Parts using high-fidelity, linear static FEA simulations.
Thereafter, you can edit your initial model set up based on preliminary results, save the current state of your design and open up prior versions, or continue to interact with your design in Live Parts to rapidly create and iterate through design alternatives.
When your design(s) is ready, you can export it from Live Parts in seconds as smooth, solid body geometry ready for downstream processing or manufacturing and eliminating the need for any surface remodeling.
